<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a retardation film capable of manufacturing the retardation film of Nz<1.0 appropriate as a viewing angle compensation film of a liquid crystal display device of an IPS system with industrially high manufacturing efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the retardation film comprises an optical laminate production step of producing an optical laminate which is laminated with a first retardation layer, and has a retardation value (Rth<SP>1</SP>) in a thickness direction within a range from 60 to 200 nm, and a second retardation layer which is formed on the first retardation layer and has a retardation value (Rth<SP>2</SP>) in the thickness direction within a range from 300 to -50 nm, and a drawing process of drawing the above optical laminate in an in-plane direction, in which the Nz coefficient is Nz<1.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
