PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photograph a subject in the optimum composition corresponding to a moving direction of the subject in an automatic imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: A composition line L is set in an imaging visual field so as to divide the imaging visual field into an inside area and an outside area. A subject is imaged, image data are acquired, a prescribed object is detected from the acquired image data, a position in an imaging visual field of the detected object is detected, and when the position of the detected object is matched with the composition line L during the movement of the object from the outside area to the inside area, the subject is imaged.
