PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive unit capable of restraining looseness of a guide shaft with a small number of components. SOLUTION: The lens drive unit 11 includes a unit base 12, a lens holder 13, two guide shafts 14a, 14b, a fixing member 15 for fixing the two guide shafts 14a, 14b and a driving part 16 for driving the lens holder 13. The unit base 12 includes four placing parts including a first face and a second face which is almost perpendicular to the first face, for placing the guide shafts 14a, 14b. In the lens drive unit 11, the side faces of the guide shafts 14a, 14b are brought to contact with the first face and second face at the four respective placing parts while the fixing member 15 for fixing the two guide shafts 14a, 14b together is provided.
