摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement method of transient particle mass discharge concentration from an engine capable of evaluating exhaust particulates of the engine operating in a transient state. SOLUTION: The engine under test is operated in the state where it is previously set to a predetermined number of rotation speeds and loads, the distribution of particle size to number concentration of the particles discharged from the engine is measured, and effective density for each particle size is measured. Particle concentration map data of the engine under test created by plotting the discharged particle mass concentration over the measured whole particle size range with respect to the rotation speed and load is determined based on the distribution of particle size to number concentration and the effective density for each particle size. The engine rotation speed and the instantaneous value of the load in transient test mode for evaluation are calculated at a predetermined time interval, the discharged particle mass concentration is determined momentarily by an interpolation method based on the particle concentration map data, and the total mass concentration in a certain operation period or in desired test mode is determined.
