METHOD FOR PRODUCING SMART FIBER USING COMPOUND HAVING Si-O-Si BOND, AND SMART FIBER WEAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve means by which an optically functional layer having optical functions can be imparted regioselectively and spatial selectively to the surface or inside of a fiber coated or mixed with a compound having an Si-O-Si bond. SOLUTION: The method for producing the smart fiber includes selectively irradiating the fiber 1 coated or mixed with the compound having the Si-O-Si bond with a first light 3 having a wave length or 190 nm or less, a second light 5 having a wave length of less than 190 nm and more than 266 nm, and a third light 6 having a wave length of 266 nm or more to form one of a silica glass layer 2a, a luminescent material layer 2b and a carbon layer 2c of an optically functional layer 2 polyphyletically at the part irradiated with the light.
