PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the contact of a torsion bar with an axis member. SOLUTION: The gripping mechanism includes: a gripper claw 25 for gripping or releasing a sheet in a periphery formed in a cylindrical shape; an axis member 21 which is rotatably prepared around own axis line S2 such that a sheet is gripped or released by the gripper claw 25; a torsion bar 26 inserted into the tube of the axis member 21 so as to impart a bias power to the rotation of the axis member 21; and a protection member 20 which is prepared between the outer periphery surface of the torsion bar 26 and the inner circumference surface of the axis member 21 and is formed of a more flexible material than the torsion bar 26.
