PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect defective ejection nozzles for each nozzle quickly, at low cost and without a recorder being made large in scale. SOLUTION: A temperature of each heater while a driving signal is applied to the heater in an inkjet recording head which ejects an ink from the nozzles by making the heater give a heat energy to the ink is measured by a temperature sensor. The defective ejection nozzle is judged by a difference between a value of a peak convex in the negative direction and a value of a peak convex in the positive direction on a curve formed when the temperature measured by the temperature sensor is subjected to differentiation of second order with a time.
