PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superabrasive grain vitrified grinding wheel achieving reduced grinding burn and having an extended grinding wheel life. SOLUTION: In this vitrified grinding wheel 10, since a unit structure repeatedly generated in at least one portion of a vitrified grinding wheel texture with superabrasive grain 20 and filler particles 22 bonded by vitrified bonds 24 has the number ratio of the superabrasive grain 20 to the filler particles 22 set at 1.0 : 5.0, the superabrasive grain 20 and filler particles 22 are bonded together by the vitrified bonds 24 with the superabrasive grain 20 and filler particles 22 positioned in a packing structure similar to a body-centered cubic lattice close-packed structure, a face-centered cubic lattice close-packed structure, or a hexagonal close-packed structure. Aggregation of the superabrasive grains 20 is thereby preferably restricted by interposition of the filler particles 22 to form a uniform distance between the superabrasive grains 20, resulting in reduced grinding burn and the extended grinding wheel life.
