<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fabricate a liquid crystal display device which has a protection plate attached thereto and in which the protection plate and a liquid crystal panel are laminated to each other with no air bubble trapped in between. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device comprising a backlight unit and the liquid crystal panel held between two glass substrates and having electrodes, a liquid crystal layer, alignment layers, and a color filter inside thereof, the liquid crystal display device is characterized in that it has a transparent protection plate on the side of the liquid crystal panel, which is not facing the backlight unit, it has polarizing plates stuck to both faces of the liquid crystal panel, and it has a transparent organic medium layer between the protection plate and the liquid crystal panel, wherein there is a frame on four edges of the transparent organic medium layer, and an interconnected porous member is used on the protection plate side of at least one edge of the frame and a nonporous member or a closed cell porous member is used on the liquid crystal panel side of at least one edge of the frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
