PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation heat absorbing cover and a cooking vessel, capable of significantly improving the heat efficiency. SOLUTION: The radiation heat absorbing cover 3 comprises a cover body 30 to cover the outer periphery 6 of a cylindrical bottomed vessel body 2, and an attaching means 31 for detachably attaching the cover body 30 to the vessel body 2. The cover body 30 is characterized by including an endothermic layer 42 formed of carbon fiber textile on the inner surface.
