PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for hair, which imparts good slip and softness even to damaged hair throughout the period from the time when hair is wet to the time when it is dried. SOLUTION: The composition for hair contains 0.1-10 mass% (A) a tertiary amine compound represented by general formula (1) (wherein R is a straight or branched 8-24C alkyl group or a like group; R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-3C alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, or a like group; R<SP>2</SP>is a 2-4C hydroxy- or dihydroxy-alkyl group or the like; A is an ethylene group and/or a propylene group; n is an integer of or 0 or ≥1; and m is an integer of 1-5), 0.3-5 mol, per mol of component (A), of (B) an organic acid and/or an inorganic acid, and 0.01-10 mass% (C) aromatic alcohol.
