PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generator having a cooling flow bifurcation member and a method for controlling a cooling stream. SOLUTION: The cooling flow bifurcation member 134 is disposed in between an end portion of a stator core 18 and a stator flange 30 in a flow passage 52 in an externally radial direction in the generator 2. The cooling flow bifurcation member 134 has a main body 162 with a tapered surface 169. The main body 162 separates a first flow 130 flowed into the flow passage 52 in the externally radial direction with a first velocity into a second flow 142 with a second velocity and a third flow 144 with a third velocity. The second flow 142 is directed along the outer surface 46 of the end portion of the stator 18, and the third flow 144 is directed along the flange 30. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
