PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively deal with lowering of the accuracy of retainment due to wear of the internal surface of a ferrule insertion hole caused by insertion of a ferrule performed repeatedly, in a ferrule retainer for performing positioning and posture retainment of the ferrule. SOLUTION: The retainer is employed for retaining the ferrule 10 in a state in which the ferrule is inserted into the ferrule-fixing ferrule insertion hole 131 in an axial direction of the ferrule insertion hole. A retention member 130 which is replaceably attached to the retainer base part 110, comprises a sleeve part 133 and a fixing part 134 formed integrally, and has a penetrating ferrule insertion hole 131, a split groove 137, and a press part 136 which is displaced in such a way as to be pressable to a peripheral surface of the ferrule 10. The retainer is so structured as to retain the ferrule inserted in the ferrule insertion hole through pressing of the press part 136 by an operation member 150 of the base part 110, and be capable of detachably replace the retention member 130 by removing the fixing part 134 from the base part 110.
