PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized photodetection device having a small power consumption, capable of detecting irradiation light applied to a casing of an electronic device. SOLUTION: This photodetection device includes two light receiving elements having each mutually different light reception wavelength characteristic, connected in series through a middle point, and arranged in the facing state to an opening of the casing of the electronic device, and uses a signal showing a current extracted from the middle point as a detection signal, while maintaining both ends of a series circuit of the light receiving elements at a reference electric potential.
