<p>A finished flexure unit equipped with a head slider (23) is fixed to the top surface of a base (46) in a freely detachable manner. On a flexure (35), a wiring pattern is electrically pre-connected to an electromagnetic conversion element of the head slider (23). The flexure unit is placed in a state same as in the case where it is actually mounted on a head suspension. For a characteristic test for a head, the head slider (23) is faced to the top surface of a magnetic disk (43). The electromagnetic conversion element reads out the magnetic information from the magnetic disk (43). The readout magnetic information is output from the wiring pattern. Generation of any contact resistance is avoided. A characteristic test for the electromagnetic conversion element is carried out with high stability. Further, the flexure unit is discarded upon detection of faulty head slider (23). Therefore, waste materials are reduced in quantity as much as possible compared with the case where, for example, a head suspension assembly itself is discarded, thereby avoiding cost loss whenever possible.</p> |
