<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a size of a memory card connector and reduce a mounting space in accordance with reduction of a size of an inserted memory card. <P>SOLUTION: A connector main body including a housing 110 for inserting a memory card from a card insertion port 101 and a shield case 120, is provided with a card detection switch 150 for detecting the memory card inserted in the connector main body. The card detection switch 150 includes a first terminal 160 arranged on the connector main body, and a second terminal 170, which is arranged so that the switch is in contact with the first terminal 160 by pressing the first terminal 160 in a thickness direction of the memory card, and elastically deforms in the thickness direction and separating from the first terminal 160 when the memory card is inserted.
