<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of surely accurately controlling reduced iron discharged at high temperature from a reducing furnace such as a rotary furnace hearth, to a temperature suitable for hot forming by a hot briquette machine. <P>SOLUTION: The reduced iron B2 is cooled to a temperature of 600°C or more to 750°C or less suitable for hot forming by an indirect cooling method for cooling an outer peripheral face of a rotary drum 21 by the cooling water E during a time when a high-temperature reduced iron B1 passes through the inside of the rotary drum 21 while keeping the inside of the rotary drum 21 provided with a spiral feeding blade 22 on its inner peripheral face, under a non-oxidizing atmosphere by a nitrogen gas D. The cooling temperature of the reduced iron B2 is controlled by adjusting at least one of a rotating speed of the rotary drum 21, a supply flow rate to the rotary drum 21, of the nitrogen gas D, and a temperature of the cooling water E, according to a production speed of the high-temperature reduced iron B1 and a charging temperature to the rotary drum 21, of the high-temperature reduced iron B1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
