<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan motor capable of achieving both improvement of a self-refrigerating function and reduction of a fan noise, and which can prevent generation of thermal damage and troubles caused by an externally radiating heat, and deterioration in fan noise, fan performance, and fan efficiency, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: In the fan motor 1 having a shroud 2, a motor 3 fixed and supported by the shroud 2, an axial flow fan 4 connected to a rotary shaft section of the motor 3, and a heat insulated plate 5 mounted at a back side of the motor 3 with a gap, a spatula-shaped wind guiding section 52 projected outwardly to at least one location of an external peripheral section in the radial direction is arranged on the heat insulated plate 5.
