<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise-removing device and a noise removing method for effectively removing mosquito noise by using edge information. <P>SOLUTION: An edge detection part 20 detects edge information from an input image signal. From the edge information, determination as to whether an area is an effective area including an edge and quantization are performed, and these results are output to a correction amount control part 70, together with the determination result of a flat portion area. The correction amount control part 70 generates a correction amount control signal 72a for determining the noise removal correction amount to be removed as mosquito noise, on the basis of these outputs and subtracts a signal generated, by multiplying an extracted noise component extraction signal 43a by the correction amount control signal 72a, as the noise component signal 45a to be removed, from an image signal 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
