PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic shielding material for display, which is superior in visibility and manufactured with high productivity at low cost on the whole, and to provide an optical filter for display using the same. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic shielding material for display has a peeling-processed peeling film stacked on one surface of a transparent base 1 with an adhesive layer interposed therebetween and also has a metal mesh pattern 6, comprising a fine-wire mesh pattern 3 of development silver produced by a photographic process and a plating layer 4 stacked thereupon, formed on the other surface of the transparent base. Here, the metal mesh pattern 6 corresponds to the screen size of a display, a surface of the plating layer 4 is blackened, and resin for transparency processing is not embedded in a recessed portion of the metal mesh pattern 6, which in turn is exposed to come into contact with outside air.
