PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide one board with a watch dog timer function in a system having a plurality of boards to easily and inexpensively detect runaway of the program of other board. SOLUTION: In this system having a plurality of boards 1 and 2 for executing individual programs, the plurality of boards 1 and 2 are provided with board control means 11 and 12 respectively, and a board monitoring means for monitoring the runaway of the program of one board 2 is installed in the other board control means 11. One board 2 periodically starts a period start task whose priority is lower than the program for detecting the runaway, and each time the task is started, prescribed information change is transmitted to the other board 1. The board monitoring means monitors whether or not the prescribed information change has been transmitted from one board 2 in a fixed time, and when the prescribed information change has not been transmitted in the fixed time, detects the runaway of the program of the one board 2.
