PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic bearing device capable of keeping predetermined rigidity when power of an electromagnet is on, of touching down to a bearing when the power is turned off, and small in leakage of magnetic flux in an eccentricity direction while effectively acting on eccentricity orthogonal to a control direction; and a solid-liquid separator with the magnetic bearing device mounted thereon. SOLUTION: An axial distance (gap) to a rotor core 35 is measured by gap sensors 34A, 34B, 34C and 34D. Currents carried to electromagnets 33A, 33B, 33C and 33D are varied to set the measured distance at a desired value. Thereby, an axial position in operation can be adjusted. Magnetic flux acts upward by a permanent magnet 37 and the electromagnets 33A, 33B, 33C and 33D, one-side route is formed by a magnetic path passing through an outer pipe 21, and the other-side route is formed by a magnetic path passing through an inner pipe 25.
