PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire making traveling performance and high speed durability compatible to a high degree while utilizing excellent characteristic possessed by polyketone fiber. SOLUTION: The pneumatic radial tire is provided with: a carcass ply 4 comprising a cord layer extending from a tread part 3 to both bead parts 1 through both side wall parts 2, fastened to the bead part 1, and arranged in an approximately radial direction; a belt 5 successively arranged at an outer side in a tread part radial direction of the carcass ply 4; and belt reinforcement layers 6A, 6B. The cord of the belt reinforcement layers 6A, 6B contains at least 50 mass% or more the polyketone fiber, an endothermic peak does not exist in endothermic data at 50-200°C by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) of the polyketon fiber.
