PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drainable ostomy pouch capable of more firmly sealing the pouch after emptying by easily performing washing in the opening part of a drain opening for washing the drain opening and its peripheral area. SOLUTION: A drainable ostomy pouch having a first, proximal (6), and a second, distal (7), elongate, flexible stiffening strip each made of a stiff plastics material is provided. The flexible stiffening strips extend in a direction transverse to a longitudinal direction of the ostomy pouch in the vicinity of a drainage opening 5 of the ostomy pouch. The first major surface of each of the flexible stiffening strips are attached to an outer surface of each of the first and second side walls of a drainage portion of the pouch.
