PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color reproduction apparatus or the like used for manufacturing a diffraction grating medium which is composed of diffraction grating cells and reproduces the colors of an original design and which has high reproducibility and causes no luminance reduction. SOLUTION: The color reproduction apparatus 1 comprises: a normal line information recording means 23 which records information in the normal line direction of the respective pixels of the original design as normal line information; a normal line information conversion means 25 which projects a vector regarding the normal line information on a normal line projection face having a specific directional angle and defines the information regarding the projected vector as converted normal line information; a color information recording means 27 which records the information on RGB color components of the respective pixels of the original design as color information; a color information conversion means 29 which converts the color information into the information on HSV color components and defines the information of the converted H-color component as converted color information; and a block copy data production means 31 which determines a grating direction and a grating pitch for every pixel and produces the block copy data on the basis of the converted normal line information and the converted color information.
