PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw device which can allow the rocking motion of a ball nut with a slight sliding resistant, and further to provide an electric power steering system. SOLUTION: Convex spherical surfaces 32a, 33a are provided on both end portion of the ball nut 21. Engaging members 31, 34 for rockably supporting the ball nut are arranged on both end portions in the axial direction of the ball nut in a rotary cylinder member 41. The engaging members have a plurality of engaging projections 31a, 34a which support the convex spherical surfaces and can elastically deform in the rocking direction of the ball nut.
