PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building which is applicable to the case where an inner garage is different in floor height from an indoor space, and contributes to improved convenience of the user when he or she moves between a vehicle and the indoor space. SOLUTION: A vehicle-side location where a movable plate 41 is arranged is set at a transfer location between a vehicle 24 and a platform surface 42, and an elevated location is set at a transfer location between the platform surface 42 and a floor surface 22a of a habitable room 22. The movable plate 41 is horizontally moved from a standby location and arranged at the vehicle-side location, and then elevated from the standby location to be arranged at the elevated location. When the movable plate is arranged at the elevated location, the platform surface 42 and the floor surface 22a of the habitable room 22 form a continuous surface at the same height, and therefore a barrier-free environment is achieved. In this manner by moving the movable plate 41 to the elevated location, the continuous surface is formed, and therefore even if the height of a vehicle entrance is different at every vehicle, the movable plate can form the continuous surface irrespective of the type of the vehicle.
