PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial rock whose outer appearance is made into the one having a deep soil feeling that has not been present heretofore and made suitable or glowing plants while maintaining the advantage of lightness in conventional one. SOLUTION: Disclosed is an artificial rock 100 provided with a foamed polystyrene lump 1 whose outer form is made into a rock shape, and in which decomposed granite 2 having a color tone close to that of the rock surface and lying in a consolidated state is formed on the outer surface of the foamed polystyrene lump 1, so as to be a layered shape. In the production thereof, the outer surface of the foamed polystyrene lump 1 is worked, so as to be a rock surface shape, on the other hand, a semi-fluidizable kneaded matter obtained by mixing and stirring the decomposed granite 2, a binder, a curing agent, color powder and water is prepared, and the kneaded matter is formed on the outer surface of the foamed polystyrene lump 1.
