Systems are described for use in removing toxic airborne contaminants from a waxing environment where wax is being applied to sporting equipment. The systems include a base (212, 512), at least one platform (102, 202, 302, 402, 502) coupled to the base (212, 512), at least one platform (102, 202, 302, 402, 502) and an airflow generator (220, 520, 620). The at least one platform (102, 202, 302, 402, 502) is configured to securely receive sporting equipment (350, 368, 450, 468) to be waxed. Each platform (102, 202, 302, 402, 502) includes a first surface that is in contact with the waxing environment, an opposing second surface and at least one opening (106, 206) that extends between the first and second surfaces of each platform (102, 202, 302, 402, 502). The airflow generator (220, 520, 620) is configured to generate an airflow (226, 626) for pulling harmful airborne contaminants through the at least one opening (106, 206) in each platform (102, 202, 302, 402, 502) in a direction from the first surface to the second surface.
|
