A system for offering a picture frame service and a method thereof are provided to save network resources as much as the data size of an picture frame image by including few picture frame codes in the image. In case the first portable terminal requests to transmit a specific picture frame image, a picture frame server searches a picture frame code corresponding to the picture frame image in a database(S230). The first portable terminal includes the picture frame code of the picture frame image in a photographed image data of a subject(S240). If the picture frame image exists in the second mobile equipment, the picture frame server delivers the photographed image data received from the first portable terminal to the second portable terminal(S260, S270). The second portable terminal synthesizes the photographed image with a picture frame image corresponding to the picture frame code within the second portable terminal, and then displays the synthesized image(S280).
