PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for easily coping with data of new data format in a vehicle side communication device for use in a road-vehicle communication system. SOLUTION: A road side communication device 10 of the road-vehicle communication system 1 has a road side communication part 12 for transmitting VICS data and DSSS data. The vehicle side communication device 20 has a vehicle side communication part 22 for receiving the VICS data and DSSS data from the road side communication part 12, a data format conversion part 21a, and a navigation part 24. The data format conversion part 21a converts the data format of DSSS data into the data format of VICS data. The navigation part 24 performs display output and voice output based on the VICS data and performs display output and voice output based on the DSSS data converted in data format by the data format conversion part 21a.
