PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leak inspecting method for a liquid jetting device capable, in particular, of reducing the amount of the leaking liquid at the initial time of leakage, and provide the liquid jetting device. SOLUTION: The leak inspecting method for the liquid jetting device is to jet the liquid accommodated in a liquid container upon sending it out toward a liquid jetting head 15 by the use of the pressurizing force of a gas pressurized by a pump P. Within the prescribed time of the pump being driven set previously in accordance with the liquid amount in the contained 18, discrimination is made whether the pressure of the gas pressurized by the pump P has attained the preset pressure value, and if attained, determination is passed that no leakage is generated, and if otherwise, a leak generation is determined.
