PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, highly sensitive, highly precise pressure detection unit. SOLUTION: This force detection unit comprises a package body having an opening section, a stress sensitive element having a stress sensitive section and two fixing terminals coupled to the stress sensitive section so as to sandwich the stress sensitive section, and a lid body for closing the opening section of the package body. The lid body has a lid main body having a through-hole and a block shaped force transmission member functioning as a force transmitting section. The force detection unit is configured such that the force transmission member is inserted into the through-hole, and the lid main body and the force transmission member are fixed to each other.
