PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle restraining device capable of assuring stability in restraining vehicles and measurement precision in testing while saving the space of the whole of a chassis dynamometer. SOLUTION: In a vehicle restraining device, posts 14 are erected in the front and in the back of a test vehicle 10 placed on a chassis dynamometer, and a restraining member 17 is stretched between each post and the test vehicle 10 to restrain the test vehicle 10. A pulley block 18 for coupling with the post 14 is arranged at one end of the restraining member 17, and the pulley block 18 is arranged so as to be engaged with a belt 16 which is fixed at the upper and the lower parts of the post 14. With this, the pulley block 18 is movable vertically with respect to the post 14, and is capable of following the vertical movement of the test vehicle 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
