PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing nickel powder exhibiting excellent sintering behavior in a manufacturing process of laminated ceramic capacitors and suitably used for conductive paste and the laminated ceramic capacitors. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method comprises: a chlorination step where a nickel metal having a sulfur compound in the outer peripheral part thereof is brought into contact with chlorine gas; and a reduction step where nickel-chloride-containing gas generated in the chlorination step is brought into contact with reducing gas to continuously reduce the nickel chloride.
