PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device, a printer, and a motor control method which can make the accuracy of a stopping position good. SOLUTION: The printer includes a motor 31 for giving driving force for conveying an article P to be conveyed, a position calculating means 141 for calculating the present position of the article P to be conveyed by the drive of the motor 31, a speed calculating means 122 for calculating the present speed of the article to be conveyed by the drive of the motor 31, a position control means 140 for feedback controlling the motor 31 based on the present position calculated by the position calculating means 141 and a target position, a speed control means 120 for feedback controlling the motor 31 based on the present speed calculated by the speed calculating means 121 and a target speed, and a switching means 101 for switching the control of the motor 31 from the speed control means 120 to the position control means 140, when the motor 31 arrives at a site position before a predetermined position from the target stopping position of the motor 31 by the drive of the motor 31.
