#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves guiding pigs (1) via a chamber (6) filled with inert gas i.e. argon, for pre-stunning, and conveying the pigs via a chamber (13) filled with carbon-di-oxide for final-stunning in a stretched vertical position, in which the head of the pig is down. A handling device (19) is arranged at the chamber (6) and operable outside the chamber (6) under limitation of the gas. The method provides better quality of pig flesh.
