<p>An inventive information recording medium (1) has an L0-layer and an L1-layer having a different format from the L0-layer. In a control information area (12) of the L0-layer, there is recorded AC0 that is control information specifying the operation of a recording/reproducing apparatus permissible for the L0-layer. In a control information area (13) of the L1-layer, there is recorded AC1 that is control information specifying the operation of the recording/reproducing apparatus permissible for the L1-layer. The L0-layer, which is a writable recording layer, has a control information recording area (14) used for recording the AC1 that is the control information of the L1-layer recorded in the L1-layer.In this way, there are provided an information recording medium, a recording/reproducing apparatus and a recording/reproducing method wherein a quick, appropriate control can be performed during recording and reproducing.</p> |
