A stent (10) for application within an aneurysm (12) the stent (10) comprising an elongated tubular member having a proximal end (36) and a distal end (38). The stent has a proximal portion (36) expandable from a first diameter to a second diameter. The distal end (38) of the stent (10) may be expandable to a third diameter, which third diameter is larger than the second diameter. The stent (10) may be left disposed across the neck of the aneurysm.
