<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter for a high-quality transflective IPS (In Plane Switching) liquid crystal display device, by which a problem such as peeling of fine particles exposed on a tapered surface of a light scattering layer can be prevented during rubbing. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter for a transflective IPS liquid crystal display device has a color layer 2 formed on a transparent substrate 1 and having an aperture (a), an overcoat layer 3 formed on the color layer, and a pattern of a light-scatting layer 4 including fine particles dispersed in a transparent resin on the overcoat layer, in which a region where the transparent substrate, the color layer having the aperture, the overcoat layer and the light-scattering layer are stacked is used as a reflective region while a region of the color layer having no aperture is used as a transmissive region. The light-scattering layer is formed by an additive method using a coating liquid for forming the light-scattering layer on the overcoat layer in the reflective region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
