PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment device where the contact between paper and a film or the like in a surface treatment device is surely prevented upon the non-use of the surface treatment device, and deterioration in the quality of printed paper can be prevented. SOLUTION: Between an impression cylinder 19 and a film pressing part F, a pair of guide parts 82, 83 are provided on the upstream side in the carrying direction to the width direction of a sheet 2, and a pair of guide parts 82, 83 are provided on the downstream side in the carrying direction to the width direction of the sheet 2. The guide parts 80 to 83 are located in retreating positions at which they are not interfered with the film pressing part F upon the use of the surface treatment device 6, and are movable to the positions at which they guide the sheet 2 to be carried upon the non-use of the surface treatment device 6.
