PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid cable capable of inhibiting an insulating oil impregnated in an insulating layer from moving in the axial direction of the cable. SOLUTION: An insulating layer 3 impregnated with an insulating oil and a metal sheath 5 are formed on an outer periphery of a conductor 1 of the solid cable. A higher viscosity portion 7 is formed between the insulating layer 3 and the metal sheath 5, which portion inhibits the insulating oil from moving between the insulating layer and the metal sheath. Because of this structure, the higher viscosity portion acts as a resistant element against the insulating-oil movement to the diametrical and axial directions of the cable so as to inhibit the insulating oil from moving in the axial direction of the cable, with the result that oil starvation can be suppressed.
