PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a thermocouple from being bent in a lens forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A pipe 24 formed of a rigid material, for example, stainless steel, in which the thermocouple 22 is inserted is inserted in a hole 23 of an upper mold 14a. The thermocouple 22 is pressed and its tip end 22a is thereby pressed on the bottom of the hole 23b in a predetermined force. Since the thermocouple 22 is protected by the rigid pipe 24, the thermocouple is not bent, and its tip end 22a is surely pressed on the bottom of the hole 23b, whereby the exact temperature of a mold surface 20a can be measured.
