A semiconductor optical device, a process for clock recovery and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. Both facets of the semiconductor optical device are coated with antireflection films used for notch filter processing of the received optical signal. The reflectance of the films is set according to the amplitude jitter of the clock signal, so that the quality of the output of the clock signal is controlled in a given range. The invention overcomes the disadvantage of the state of the art in strong dependence on the F factor of the Fabry-Perot filter. Simultaneously, due to the simple configuration of the clock recovery apparatus, it can be integrated on one chip and easily realized, which improves the integration of the system.
