<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for driving a password device offering high security within a range of electric power supplied from an external apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the password device, power supply to a biometrics CPU is limited in a given period of time after the password device is connected to a host apparatus to start power supply to a main CPU. After a lapse of the given period of time, the limit to the power supply to the biometrics CPU is canceled. The main CPU includes: a coding/decoding means having a coding function of coding data and a decoding function of decoding coded data; and a control means which causes the coding/decoding means to code data input from the host apparatus via an interface and store the coded data in a memory and causes the coding/decoding means to decode coded data stored in the memory under a given condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
