<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce current caused to flow by load short-circuit by uniformizing melting/cutting timings of a plurality of fuses to be melt/cut by a short-circuit current when a switching element fails, to prevent extension of damages thereby reducing defective portions, in an inverter apparatus constituted of a plurality of switching elements connected in parallel. <P>SOLUTION: The inverter apparatus is equipped in each phase with a plurality of semiconductor switches in each phase connected in series and with a plurality of semiconductor units having a fuse provided to each positive and negative DC terminals and also having mutual connecting points of the semiconductor switch as an AC terminal, for mutually inverting a DC power and an AC power. In the inverter apparatus, the positive and negative terminals are connected in parallel with each other to be connected to a DC capacitor, and the positive and negative fuses within each semiconductor unit and the connecting point of the semiconductor switch are connected in parallel with each other, to equalize the currents flowing in the positive and negative fuses when one switching element fails. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
