<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating cancers, e.g., mesothelioma or lymphoma. <P>SOLUTION: Mesothelioma or diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is treated by administering a pharmaceutical composition containing an HDAC (histone deacetylase) inhibitor, e.g., suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA). An oral formulation of the pharmaceutical composition has a preferable pharmacokinetic profile such as high bioavailability and surprisingly provides high blood levels of the active compound over an extended period of time. The invention further provides a safe, daily dosing regimen of these pharmaceutical compositions, which is easy to follow, and which results in a therapeutically effective amount of the HDAC inhibitor in vivo. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
