PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning controller for generating pulse outputs of a series of variable speed patterns based on a desired operation speed pattern given before start-up. SOLUTION: A conversion setting means 120 writes first and second set values corresponding to pulse cycles for low-speed/high-speed operations to first and second setting registers 133, 132 of a first high-speed counter 130 beforehand, and writes a half value of a target generated pulse and the number of low-speed operation pulses to first and second setup registers 153, 152 of a second high-speed counter 150. The first high-speed counter 130 generates low-speed pulse output or high-speed pulse output in cooperation with a selection switch circuit 141 and an alternating output circuit 142. The selection switch circuit 141 switches the speed from low-to high to low by increase comparison output P2, count-up output Q2 and decrease comparison output P2 of the second high-speed counter 150.
