CARBON NANOTUBE AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow carbon nanotube itself to be shifted to metallic property from the semiconducting property by surface modification of a metal. SOLUTION: The carbon nanotube is provided with a nanotube body 1 and a metal cluster 2 bonded to the surface of the nanotube body 1 by forming a complex on the surface thereof. The metal cluster 2 has≥1 nm average particle size. The carbon nanotube is characterized in that since an electric charge is moved from the metal cluster 2 to the nanotube body 1, the semiconductivity of the nanotube body 1 is shifted to a metallic property.
