The method involves determining two drive moments acting on a motor vehicle and assigned two accelerations of the motor vehicle, where one of the drive moments is determined based on the engine speed, the engaged gear ratio, the dynamic wheel diameter and the efficiency of drive chain. The total mass of the motor vehicle is determined based on the determined drive moments and the accelerations. The individual wheel braking force is determined based on the determined total mass of the motor vehicle. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product for performing a method for load-dependent improving of driving stability of a motor vehicle (2) a driving stability improving device comprising a drive moment determination unit.
